Rise and Shout!!

Today was thee first BYU football game of the season. (:

I woke up today around 12:30... ya I know.... way late. But it was good, I needed the sleep BADLY. So I got up. My madre informed me that I needed to be ready by about 1:30. She also said that we have an extra ticket and I could invite someone... so I invited my dearest friend Kaitlyn. (:

I got all ready. I finished at exactly 1:30, hair still wet, but I was ready. Kait came over and we drove off. I was kinda sad... because my phone fell behind my bed and I COULDN'T GET IT. So I was phoneless.. haha.

Soooo when we got there.. we parked and walked to the stadium. It wasn't too far of a walk. We got there, and I was already hot. It was BURNIN UP out there... hahaha. But it was totally worth it.

I can't remember too much of the game........ I kinda spaced out a lot and all of 2nd quarter, I was downstairs in the shade... haha. But it was fun!! Me and Kait made it fun anyways. I'm so excited. I LOVE football season. With a passion.

Stress??

Holy tomato. Today has been a pretty rough day.
For one thing, it's B day. That means we're supposed to have practice after school, not before.
We had to be at the school at 6:30 =/ which isn't as bad as it is on A days, but still.
Then, I switched my World Civ class again. I volunteered (because our class had about 45 kids), but still. New teacher, new classroom to find... not fun.
Anyways...
Then, after school, instead of 30 minutes to get ready for drill, we only had 10.
During those 10 minutes, I remembered I forgot to pay a drill fee.
If I didn't pay the fee, I would get a tardy. I already have one tardy and you can only have 9 tardies the whole year.
Sooo.... I got another tardy. But I don't have to run laps for it!!
Anyways...
Practice was brutal. Hip hop was a mess. We cleaned all 3 hours. We perform tomorrow but we're SO not ready.
And..
to top it all off..
My big brother is moving out tomorrow, and it finally hit me today. I mean, it's totally his decision, but he's my big bro. I love him :(

Oh yeah... and instead of 6:00 tomorrow, we have to be at the school at 5 with HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE for performance. Arg. That means Miss Kenzie here is waking up at.... about 3:30.

now for the good parts (:

I met him last week.
He's friends with my friend Tyler.. he introduced us... apparently, Ryan has a crush on me.
And he walked me to science today (:
And he has THE cutest smile!!!
But anyways...... :D
I better go, I need to pack my bag and hit the sack so I don't die tomorrow.

First Day of High School Part 1

Well guys.... my first day of my sophomore year is over!! K... halfway over. I still have B day to get through (:

Today wasn't that bad. For the most part, it was kinda boring. Of course I was tired, so everything seemed boring. My favorite class so far is seminary.. :D

But i'll start at the start of the day.

4:30 am. That is when I, Makenzie Carbine, was forced to wake up. Yeppers. 4:30.

I had to set 3 alarms to make sure that I actually woke up. I did, I didn't WANT to, but I did (:

I got all ready, got my school stuff ready and my drill bag, and waited for Jacqui to pick me up at 5:35. We had a normal drill practice, except it was 3 hours instead of 5. It wasn't too bad today....

But. After drill, we only had 25 minutes to get totally ready for school. Hair and everything. Luckily, I straightened my hair the night before, so it was already straight for school.

I went to my second period.... but... I got lost. So i was a few minutes late.

It was AWFUL!! I opened the door, and the class had already began. It was awkward. I found the closest seat that was open and quickly took it.

Language Arts.

It was pretty awkward... I only knew one person, and she was with a friend, and everyone else had friends... except me. So I was quiet.

Then, it was gym.

I knew a few kids: Sam, Kenzie, Michela, Zack, Jayden, and Scott.

So I was pretty happy. At the end, we even got 20 minutes to do whatever, because our class was so ahead.

I was just sitting in the bleachers with my friends when I noticed a girl sitting all by herself...
She looked like she was going to cry....
Sam and I both noticed her at the same time, and both said "Let's go talk to her!!"
Even though they didn't talk much to her, they came and sat by me.
I made a conversation with her!

She is really nice!! She came from a different middle school, so not many of her friends go to Copper Hills.

It was fun, we found a lot to talk about and a lot we have in common!!
Except she's been to EFY, unlike me. I wish I wish.

Anyways....

It felt good. I felt really good.
It totally made my day better.

Then, I had lunch. I quickly found Kaitlyn, who brought me a few dollars since I forgot lunch money (I have such great friends :D)

We ate lunch together, and, in no time, it was over.....

THEN!!!

It was my favorite class.
Seminary!

I had to get directions to the seminary building, because I had no idea where I was at the time. So my good friend Tyler pointed the way out for me (:

I got there, found my class, found a friend, and sat down.

I noticed there was a really familiar looking boy......

"Where have I seen him before??" I kept asking myself.
"He looks sooooo familiar!" also popped into my mind.

Ryan Stowe. It finally hit me. My elementary crush, Ryan Stowe, was in my seminary class. I liked him from 1st grade to 6th grade. Not joking.

He looked much different!! Like me, he now wears contacts. And also like me, he has braces.

I caught him looking at me a few times..... then I even got a smile from him.
I haven't seen him for 3 years, thanks to school boundaries.

It was awkward, I gotta admit..... but I totally just got another crush on him.
(:

Anyways........ my seminary teacher is awesome!! Her name is Sister Finn. She's hilarious!! But such a good teacher.


AND THAT WAS MY FIRST DAY!!
(I even left out a few details!! but this post is getting long.....)

It really wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. I mean, I'm alive.... right?

CHHS Football Game!

So... last night was the first game of the football season!!

I had to go because the drill team officers performed at halftime.

But let's start at the beginning.....

Crysten from drill picked me up at like 6:05. She came SUPER early. But that's okay, better than being tardy. We were the first few girls there. The officers were getting ready in the dance room, with their cool pony tail mohawks! They were playing David Archuleta, so I was quite satisfied while I waited.

Then, we had to go down for flag ceremony. The poor girls!! They had to march all the way from inside the school all the way down to the field. I didn't think they would have to, I thought wrong. They did pretty darn good, except for the cheerleaders being in the way.

We had to sit as a team until halftime, so we sat in the standing section right next to the SBO's. They were all so nice, introducing themselves and shaking their hands. I couldn't help but smile. They really got into the game, too!!! So I got into the game... let's just say Kenzie was super hyper last night.

So at halftime, me and a few of the girls went down and stood by the fence to watch the officers perform. They walked on, everyone was screaming, and we all waited for the really cool song that they would dance to..... but apparently, they were having technical difficulties, and no one could hear the music. So poor Jacqui, the President, had to count out the dance for them WHILE she was dancing!!! That takes hard work. You can't really breathe when you dance... imagine counting at the same time. But they did amazingly good, even without their music!!

Then, we were free to go. I quickly found Emily and Valerie. We walked around and then found a few more friends. They all decided to go to the other side, where the other team was.. but I was wearing my drill team shirt, so I was a bit nervous I'd get dirty looks...

It was funny though!! I sang the fight song, and I really got into it, and people gave me funny looks..

Then I found a lot of people I know and said hi to a lot. Emily said I knew about every person there!!! Haha. I saw friends from elementary and friends from middle school. It was just fun.

At the end, I met Ryan (Tyler's friend)... he's really nice! Tyler was trying to get him to sit by me.... most embarrassing moment of my life. But he was really cute. (:

Anyways.......

Cousins

Today, we went to my grandma's house to celebrate my dad's birthday and my brother's birthday.


It was so much fun!! (: I got to see my cousin, Brett, who I haven't seen in a while.


He is still his same ol' self.


He makes me laugh so hard!!


It was so fun visiting with him, and being able to see him after so long.


When it was time to leave, we all got together to take a picture of all the cousins.

The Azurettes 1st Sleepover

I'm soooooo sleepy!!
Last night was the funnest night of my life! Haha.
It was so much fun. It was at Jacqui's house, and we had one of those giant bouncy slide rentals. We all played on that for so long, it was like we were kids again. I did belly flops down a lot, it was loads of fun. Brittni did a front flip!! But... on the down side.... after I got off the slide, my toe nail fell off :O. It looks really gross... but it doesn't hurt anymore!! :)
Then we ate dinner and snacked a bunch.
Then, we each got a candle, and when it was dark enough we went around the circle saying something we're looking forward to this year and then we lit the next person's candle. It was so cool, I think we got even closer as a team. Then we said our theme "Let's Make It Happen", and blew them out at the same time.
Then we went to "watch a movie"... haha it started out as everyone, then, one by one, the returning members left all the firsties by ourselves.
We knew initiation was coming. :D
IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!
Hahaha. They did their version of ooga booga, and since I already had the ooga booga experience at girls camp, I knew what was coming. But I played along anyways and got my bum wet. Haha.
Jacqui was hilarious!! She was Chief Ooga Booga. They kinda scared me at first.... they all were so serious, I couldn't help but laugh. Then they got mad and said laughing isn't allowed... so I tried to hold back my laughter. But it was hard, because they were all so funny.
AND THEY VIDEO TAPED US!! That's not cool, am I right?! So now, everyone will see our embarrassment. Haha.
After initiation, we went to bed at around 3 in the morning. Then, because people had to leave early, everyone woke up around 8. 5 hours of sleep isn't enough after a hard week of drill!! I feel very sleepy... I'm definitely going to take a loooooong nap today.
But anyways.
I'm really glad I didn't quit drill.
All our hard work is already paying off, and we've gotten closer as a team.
A to the Z to the U to the R to the ETTES, AZURETTES!! WOO!!!

Ow.

So we learned most of our hip hop today & yesterday.
One word:
OUCH!!
It's so hard on our backs!!! I seriously feel like someone kicked my back so hard that it's bruised forever.... if that makes sense... haha.
But it's way cool!!!
At the beginning of our hip hop, it says:
"Ladies and gentlemen!! For your halftime viewing pleasure, please welcome.... THE DRILL TEAM!!!" Haha.
We were going to use the whole song... but it's bad. So we used the cool beginning :D
YAY!
I'm in 3/3 dances so far, and that isn't including homecoming!! YAY!
But... dance routine I'm worried about...
I'm NOT good with stylized dance.
So... I might not make that one... but the world will go on :)
I'll live! haha.
Anyways....
Tomorrow is our SLEEPOVER!!!!!!!
YAY!!!
I'm a bit worried.... we have to go through "drill team initiation"... whatever that might be.
Hmm...... if I come back alive, i'll be sure to post about it!!!

BREAKING DAWN!

So.

I started Breaking Dawn yesterday!!

I'm at about page 452. ish.

IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a bit shocked....

But I won't spoil anything.

What is it about this book that's so great??

Day 5 of Azurette Week!!!!!!!

I SURVIVED!!! I'M ALIVE!!!!!
I, Makenzie Carbine, survived probably the hardest week of drill!!
I mean, 7 hour practices.... kickline everyday...... it gets tough.
But I made it. and i'm still standing!!!
Well.... sitting.
It hurts to walk haha.
Today, we aren't doing anything.
BUT some of the moms brought us lunch.
And we got to paint at the end :O
We made posters for the yard sale.
Anyways....
Azurette week is over!!!
Ish....
One more day really.
We're doing an Azurette Yard Sale tomorrow at 7 to 2.
I'll post about that after (:

Day 4 of Azurette Week. (late)

Well.... last night was day 4.

Practice was AMAZING!!!! Haha.

At about 1, our coach told us to come over and talk...

I wasn't expecting her to let us out early!!
So we got out of practice an hour early...

IT WAS GREAT.

Then, we went to see Mamma Mia.....

Personally, I didn't like it at all.

I wouldn't recommend it.

Too much singing.

And the plot line was really weird.....

It was fun to make fun of though... haha.

On one of the songs, it says "I don't want to talk right now"...

And my friend Tori said "Then stop talking!"

It was so funny.

Anyways....

Today we're not doing anything... but i'll still post about the last day.
