First week of drill team, complete!! :) Wow am I TIRED!! I've had to juggle regular dance o n Thurday (including teaching on Monday's), drill team practice (Tuesday through Friday), and I just got home from a competition in Provo. Let's see... that is 6 out of 7 days of DANCE!! Ya... it's my life. :)
Let me just tell you how much harder drill really is. We run on the track before every practice, then when we're done, we practice kick line (which takes a lot of stomach strength!!). After, we go across the floor. Then we do turn combinations, fuettes, ballet (holds on releve, ya, they hurt!!), & then the "fun" begins.
Every day, we switch off with a work out "routine". Some days it's sit ups and crunches for stomach strength, others it's arm exercises, and others it's leg exercises. And we usually do them for a whole song. It gets painful and extremely tiring.
The best part is at the end, when we're so tired and have to do frog jumps across the gym and back. That sounds easy... wait til you try it. THEY KILL YOUR THIGHS!! Haha.
I love my new team though... 26 great, happy girls. We all get along pretty darn good!!
Well I better try n' get some sleep... I promise those David Archuleta pictures are coming!!
